District 10 Free Flight Envoy
Kevin Houser started building and flying model aircraft in elementary school. He started with plastic static models, progressing on to rubber powered free flight stick and tissue models which he continued building through high school. While primarily flying radio control since the age of 14, he has fond memories of free flight models and a short stint at control line flying. His current emphasis is on radio control modeling with an interest in 3-D aerobatics and WWI scale aircraft, but not with the same airframes! He was appointed AMA District X Associate Vice-President for the Tucson, AZ area in 2010, and currently serves in that capacity. His primary interest is in working with local parks and government officials to continue to insure facilities access for our multifaceted hobby.
Kevin is also a full-scale pilot and earned his Private Pilot Single Engine Land certificate in 1997. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he holds a degree in Computer Engineering and has developed many cutting edge technologies in the Communications, Aerospace, and Defense industries over the past 21 years. When not attempting to learn 3-D maneuvers, or test piloting aircraft for other modelers, he enjoys providing flight instruction to new model aircraft pilots young and old. Kevin has three children, a teenage son, daughter, and elementary school aged son who have all learned to fly.
